Jason Jones Art

Welcome

Liverpool born Jason Jones graduated with a Combined Honours degree in Psychology and Fine Art at Liverpool Hope University College and was later employed as an artist in residence up until September 1999. He is now employed as their Fine Art and Design Senior Assistsant and Curator/Manager of The Cornerstone Gallery.

Jason's work has an origin based on personal experience with nature and it's chaotic elements, the growth processes, the conflict of forces meeting each other, the anger, tension and more importantly 'emotion', a binding and important element of the work. The evolving relationship between observation and the act of painting has established an individual style that is unique to Jason.

To date, themed work has been Violent Skies, The Grand Canyon, the nature of Conflict, aspects of Chaos Theory, 'Holding the Moment', 'Presence', "....inspired by 36 crazyfists". Other works that have recently been exhibited and now has it’s own virtual gallery is the ‘Abstract Romance’ series. Each theme has been an inspiration to its successor and in doing so has evolved from a physical observation approach to a more introspective and emotive investigation.

There is now a new ‘Works in Progress’ gallery that shows the new figurative direction that Jason’s is moving in. The new work still retains Jason’s unique style of applying paint and also sees the undercurrent themes of tension and conflict evident in these compositions.

Together with the new figurative works Jason is still active as ever in exploring a new series of abstract works, the first of which has now been completed. It is an interesting atmospheric development to his work.
